GeomorphIS Awarded BLM-ID Tristate Fuel Breaks Botanical Survey

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has awarded the GeomorphIS/Pyramid Botanical Consultants team a task order to conduct field surveys/clearances for special status plant and noxious weed species 0n about 12,000 acres within the Boise District area. The convergent area (Tri-state) of southwestern Idaho, southeastern Oregon, and northern Nevada is one of the largest intact strongholds of greater sage-grouse (GRSG) habitat in the Northern Great Basin (Knick and Hanser 2011). A project to develop a network of fuel breaks is underway to protect sage-grouse habitat from future catastrophic wildfires. The project area consists of 3.6 million acres of sagebrush steppe and working landscapes spanning southeastern Oregon and southwestern Idaho.

GeomorphIS Team to Conduct Trail Assessment within the Ouachita National Forest

The US Forest Service has tasked GeomorphIS and team members Cattails Environmental and Algonquin Consultants to complete an inventory and assess approximately 77 miles of the existing Winding Stair Mountain Equestrian Trail System within the Ouachita National Forest, Oklahoma. The GeomorphIS team will include recommendations and priorities for maintenance and repairs in final plan. Following the inventory, the team will assess the content, character and condition of the Trail System.
